5th Mini Album

BREAK EVEN

ILLIT’s 5th Mini Album BREAK EVEN: A Bold Warning at the Break-Even Point of a Relationship Lead Single “You’re Under Arrest” exudes electrifying energy, driven by an addictive whistle hook. Four seamlessly connected tracks trace an emotional arc that unfolds in sequence. BREAK EVEN explores the break-even point of a relationship, where there is neither loss nor gain. All this time, “I” have gone all in, while “you” have offered nothing but mixed signals. Now, ILLIT decide to end this lukewarm back-and-forth and walk away for good. Giving up isn’t easy when you’ve been sincere every step of the way. Torn between heart and head, pride and lingering feelings, ILLIT wrestle with hurt, betrayal, and anger all at once. But once they reach the break-even point, one thing becomes clearer than ever: they will no longer invest their hearts and time in a relationship that gives nothing back. With newfound maturity, ILLIT fearlessly reclaim control over their own narrative and feelings. Each track is arranged to follow an emotional arc. The opening track, "Super in Love," sets the story in motion as ILLIT realize that what they thought was a mutual romance was one-sided all along. The rising action comes in "More," where their frustration boils over, leading to the climax, "You're Under Arrest." The album reaches its resolution with “Pop,” where a new crush arrives to complete the perfect ending.
